According to a statement from the Lakeside School District, an employee has reported that a gun belonging to the employee was found at Lakeside High School on Thursday.
The matter was turned over to Hot Springs police. The district says the employee is no longer on campus and will not be at the school during the investigation.
The Lakeside School District released the following statement: “Today a gun was discovered in our High School building that belongs to a school employee. The incident was self-reported by the employee. The employee is no longer on campus and will not be at school or attending school activities during the investigation. The matter has been turned over to our local authorities. To our knowledge, no threat was made by the employee to anyone; however, safety is our top priority and this situation is being investigated accordingly.”
