Duran Duran is set to drop their new album Danse Macabre Friday, October 27. Ahead of the release, they are sharing their take on the Talking Heads classic “Psycho Killer” featuring special guest Victoria De Angelis, bass player of the Italian rock band Måneskin.

Bassist John Taylor tells ABC Audio that since the song is known for its bassline, his first goal was to figure out how someone like him would interpret it, noting “it was very instinctive.”

He says choosing to bring in De Angelis just made sense because when they met, she had told him that her main influence was Talking Heads bassist Tina Weymouth.

“So I thought, well, you know what, I’m going to get her to come and play on this,” he shares. “So we had kind of fun, like bass player’s day.”

And it sounds like Vicki also had a great time. She writes on Instagram, “I’m so grateful and honoured, it was so much fun recording together with John and he was so sweet to me and encouraged me to express myself and play it my own way.”

You can listen to “Psycho Killer” now via digital outlets and on YouTube.

Danse Macabre is available for preorder now.
