A traffic stop by an Arkansas State Trooper Thursday resulted in the arrest of a Missouri woman who was driving a U-Haul that had been reported stolen.

Antoinette Tillman, 36, reportedly admitted renting the vehicle but said her brother was supposed to have been making weekly payments so they could continue to use the vehicle.

During a court hearing Friday, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said the trooper was on I-536 at exit 36 southbound when he saw a white van approaching him from behind that appeared to be going faster than the posted speed limit. The trooper reported that he activated his radar and clocked the van at n86 miles per hour and when the van passed him, noticed that the female driver was not wearing a seat belt.

Carson said the van, which had a value of $23,000, was towed to the U-Haul Center at Pine Bluff. She said Tillman is from Missouri and has a criminal history in Louisiana.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $10,000 bond for Tillman after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with theft of property. She was told to come back to court Nov. 8
