$5,000 secured bond set for Pine Bluff woman accused of trying to cash a check from a closed account and forging the signature of the deceased account owner at Stone Bank in White Hall.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Veronica Franklin 39, with two counts of forgery.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from White Hall Investigator Clayton Cantrell Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said that on October 27th officers were dispatched to Stone Bank in reference to the checks Franklin was attempting to cash.

Carson said that she has no prior convictions and the public defender’s office was appointed to represent Franklin. She was told to come back to court on December 9th.
