After a walkout by students and another shooting near the campus of Pine Bluff High School, many people around Pine Bluff and Southeast Arkansas are asking the question what are we going to do about the school system?

First Ward City Council Member Joni Alexander was asked that question Tuesday when she appeared on the Oldies 1013 morning show and answered this way.

Alexander said questions that need to be asked include have the test scores gotten any better? Whether they like it or not, since the school system has been under state control, it’s now the state’s responsibility and anything else that happens is on them to try and fix or save,” she said.

Alexander, who is married to County Judge Gerald Robinson, said that outside of emails, Robinson has not spoken to Warren, he has not been consulted, and not been invited to anything.

She went on to say this.
