Arkansas State men’s basketball head coach Bryan Hodgson announced Friday the addition of Reedley College transfer Obadiah Curtis to the 2023-24 roster. Curtis will have three years of eligibility remaining.

“Obadiah is an under-the-radar wing from the California Junior College league where he averaged almost 20 points per game,” said Hodgson. “Obadiah has the chance to be a special player with a bright future. He has the tools and the stature to be an elite-level player on both sides of the ball. We look forward to developing Obadiah into a high-level two-way player in the Sun Belt Conference.”

Curtis, a Fresno, Calif., native played his freshman season at Reedley College appearing in 26 games. The 6-foot-5 guard joins the Red Wolves after averaging 19.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists last season. He shot 46.8 percent (205-438) from the floor, 28.6 percent (28-98) beyond the arc and 61.5 percent (75-122) at the charity stripe. A First Team Central Valley All-Conference pick, Curtis registered seven double-doubles and had a pair of 30-point performances.

Curtis prepped at Edison High School where he averaged 20 points per game in league play as a senior. He was recognized as the team MVP and was a First Team All-Conference selection.

Curtis joins transfers LaQuill Hardnett (Buffalo), Dyondre Dominguez (UMass), Fredd Hicks (Tarleton State), Derrian Ford (Arkansas), Taryn Todd (Northwest Florida State/New Mexico/TCU) and Lado Laku (Indian Hills CC/ Cal State Fullerton/Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) as additions to the 2023-24 roster for head coach Bryan Hodgson.
