A $75,000 bond was set Friday for a Jefferson County man on multiple drug and weapons charges.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Calvin Washington Jr., 26, with possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver, theft by receiving, delivery of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.

Reading from an affidavit by White Hall Police Investigator Charles Treadway, Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said on Tuesday at 1:36 p.m., Officer Christian Carroll conducted a traffic stop on a silver Chevrolet Suburban after a check of the license plate through the Arkansas Crime Information Center showed the license belonged to a trailer that had been reported stolen in Monticello.

Washington reportedly said the stolen trailer was at his residence.

Spradlin said Washington has no prior felony convictions but has 10 prior failures to appear charges from various district courts. He was told to come back to court Feb. 28.
