A White Hall man was arrested after he was accused of hiding a man being sought by sheriff’s deputies on active warrants.
Billy Brown, 39, was taken into custody while deputies were searching for Heath Ludwig, who had been identified as a suspect in the theft of a truck and trailer.
Reading from an affidavit by Sheriff’s Sgt. Dennis Kendall, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel investigators received information that Brown had been hiding Ludwig.
Brown was quoted as saying “I can’t see myself calling the police. I’m not a snitch.”
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $50, bond for Brown after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with hindering apprehension or prosecution. He was told to come back to court April 3.
