A $20,000 bond was set Wednesday for a White Hall man who allegedly beat his girlfriend during an altercation Monday.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Travis Peyton, 43, with second offense third-degree domestic battery, a felony.

Reading from an affidavit by White Hall Police Investigator Ryan Edwards, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said at 5:45 p.m., police responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a house on Harrod Road.

Akel said Peyton has prior felony convictions for kidnapping and sexually related offenses as well as the prior misdemeanor domestic battery conviction. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Oct. 3.
