A $120,000 secured bond was set for a Pine Bluff man accused of concealing the death of his girlfriend and care recipient, 74-year-old Evelyn Creasy, after allowing cats to feed on her remains.

Pine Bluff District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge 60-year-old Michael Morrison with Abuse of a Corpse.

Reading from an affidavit by Pine Bluff Police Department Detective Kirsten Garner, Prosecuting Attorney Jim Williams said that on July 15th, deputies responded to 6001 Osage Road after the Creasey’s sister reported she had not seen her in approximately 6 weeks. Officers then made contact with the Creasey’s live-in boyfriend and caretaker, Michael Morrison, who claimed he had seen her that morning before leaving to pick up her medication.

Officers observed the home was in unsanitary condition, with animal feces throughout the residence and approximately 15 dogs and cats inside.

Due to the circumstances, officers requested assistance from a K-9 unit to search the property, but no evidence was located. Investigators then interviewed Morrison and confronted him with inconsistencies in his statements. According to the affidavit, Morrison eventually admitted he had known Creasey had died sometime in March and described to investigators what he did after discovering her body.

Evelyn’s remains were recovered and have been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for examination.

Morrison is scheduled to return to court on September 11th.
