Arkansas native and professional wrestling legend Sid Eudy, known to fans as Sycho Sid and Sid Vicious, will be inducted posthumously into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026.

WWE announced Eudy will enter as a legacy inductee, recognizing a career that included two WWE Championship reigns and a lasting impact on the industry. The company described him as one of the most imposing and charismatic competitors of his generation, whose presence stood out during wrestling’s peak years.

Eudy, who was billed from West Memphis and spent much of his life in eastern Arkansas, built his career in the Mid-South and Memphis wrestling circuits. He made numerous appearances at the Pine Bluff Convention Center, where local fans saw firsthand the intensity and larger-than-life persona that would later make him a national star.

After a successful run in WCW, Eudy debuted in WWE as Sid Justice and served as special guest referee at SummerSlam 1991 in a match featuring Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior. Later that night, he played a key role in one of the event’s most memorable moments, coming to the aid of Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth during an attack.

He later returned to WWE as “Sycho Sid,” aligning with Shawn Michaels before the two developed a rivalry that defined part of the era. Eudy defeated Michaels to win his first WWE Championship at Survivor Series in 1996 and captured his second title in 1997 with a victory over Bret Hart.

Eudy was also a two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, competing against some of the biggest names in the sport, including Hogan, Sting, Goldberg and Booker T.

An injury in 2001 threatened to end his career, but Eudy later returned to wrestle on the independent circuit, continuing to perform and influence a new generation of talent.

Known as “The Master and Ruler of the World,” Eudy remained one of the most physically dominant and visually recognizable figures in professional wrestling.

Eudy died in 2024 at the age of 63 following a battle with cancer.

His induction into the WWE Hall of Fame cements his legacy not only as a global wrestling star, but also as one of Arkansas’ most notable athletes, whose career included memorable stops in communities like Pine Bluff.
