UAPB Football Names Jakori Ford as The New Tight Ends Coach

PINE BLUFF, AR. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Head Football Coach Doc Gamble announced the hiring of Jakori Ford as the team’s new tight ends coach. Ford comes to UAPB after spending a year at the University of California, Berkeley Golden Bears, working with the quarterbacks as a Graduate Assistant.

Ford played a significant role in assisting Justin Wilcox and Bill Musgrave in quarterback Chase Gabers throwing for 2,531 yards and 16 touchdowns and surpassing Joe Kapp as the All-Time leading rusher for Cal quarterbacks with 1,174 yards.

Prior to his time at Cal Berkeley, Ford served as the Defensive Quality Control for American River College (JC) in 2020. In 2019 Ford worked with the development of the Linebackers, Co-Special Teams Cord/Running backs Coach at Yuba College (JC).

Along with his collegiate experience, Ford, an alum of Natomas High School (Sacramento, started his playing career in 2011) at American River College (JC) before lettering at Idaho St. (2014-16) and earning his bachelor’s and master’s degree in kinesiology. After a promising career with the Bengals, Ford would go on to be invited to the rookie mini-camp invitation with the Indianapolis Colts in 2017.
