A $75,000 bond was set Monday for a Little Rock man accused of firing shots into a vehicle on Interstate 530, injuring the driver of the vehicle.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Octavious Smith, 40, with first-degree battery, being a felon in possession of a firearm, committing a terroristic act, and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.

During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Mircha King said Arkansas State Troopers were dispatched to a reported shooting on the interstate Saturday.

King said a check of the license plate on the Jeep showed that it was registered to Smith.

Although a bond was set for Smith, he will not be able to post it because he is on parole and a hold has been placed on him by the Department of Community Corrections pending a hearing to determine if he should be sent back to prison to complete his sentence.

He was ordered to have no; contact with the victim until the case is settled.
