$5k bond set for Pine Bluff man accused of threatening his ex-wife with knife

A $5,000 bond was set Tuesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of threatening his ex-wife with a knife.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Evester Gardner with aggravated assault and first-degree terroristic threatening.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Jason Boykin, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said on Sunday, police were sent to a house on Belmoor Drive in response to a reported disturbance.

Gardner was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Feb. 27.
