A Pine Bluff man with a long criminal history and current pending charges was arrested Thursday on multiple drug-related allegations.

Charles Lewis, 45, was taken into custody after police served a search warrant at a house in Pine Bluff.

Reading from an affidavit from Detective Kevin Kirk, Deputy Prosecutor Maxi Kizer explained what officers found.

Kizer said Lewis was previously convicted of second-degree murder, and numerous drug-related offenses and has a case pending from earlier this year with six drug-related allegations and one allegation of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Because of the pending charges, Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $50,000 cash-only bond for Lewis after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with three counts of possession of a controlled substance with the purpose to deliver and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

He said he would hire his own attorney.
