A $50,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff woman accused of kicking a nurse at Jefferson Regional Hospital Wednesday night.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Diana Gordon, 33, with second-degree battery.

Reading from an affidavit from Detective Jason Boykin, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said at 10:45 p.m., police were sent to the psychiatric ward at the hospital where a patient had reportedly battered a nurse.

The patient, Gordon, was taken into custody and reportedly said she was upset because she wanted to go home.

The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent Gordo and she was told to come back to court Oct. 18.
