A Pine Bluff man accused of choking his girlfriend after a domestic altercation inside the Saracen Casino in January will have to post a $50,000 bond to be released from the adult detention center after District Judge John Kearney ruled prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with aggravated assault on a family or household member.

Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said Anthony Wilson, 26, had left the casino when police arrived and initial attempts to locate him were unsuccessful. He was taken into custody after a shoplifting incident at Wal-Mart.

Carson told the court that police were sent to the casino on Jan. 24 and what they found after they arrived.

When Wilson was interviewed, he denied choking the victim and said he was trying to calm her down because she was upset about losing the money. He said he put his hands around her neck in an attempt to hug her from behind.

Carson said Wilson has a prior drug-related conviction. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled and said he would hire his own attorney.
