A $100,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff woman currently on parole who led police on a high-speed chase thru the city Monday, causing several accidents and injuring two people.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Cherrelle Kimble, 31, with felony fleeing, endangering the welfare of a minor, and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

Reading from an affidavit from Detective Jeremy Crosby, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Cason said Crosby was sitting at the intersection of Dollarway Road and School Street at 3:30 p.m. when he saw a vehicle approaching that appeared to be going faster than the posted speed limit. Crosby stepped out of his vehicle and used a hand-held radar unit which showed the vehicle traveling 51 miles per hour in a 30-mile-per-hour zone.

Carson said Crosby attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the vehicle sped around him and he notified dispatch that he was in pursuit.

Carson said the vehicle continued east on 28th Avenue before it reached 26th and Fir where Kimble jumped out and took off on foot. The vehicle continued to roll and ended up on a sidewalk and when police checked the vehicle found a toddler inside it.

Court records showed that Kimble has pending charges of endangering the welfare of a minor for an incident that occurred on Nov. 24, 2021, and has been convicted of more than one but less than four felonies.

She will also be held for allegedly violating the conditions of her parole, which has no bond.
