A $100,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man currently on parole who was arrested on multiple weapons charges.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge James Phillips, 41, with six counts of being a felon In possession of a firearm and with possession of a controlled substance.

Tri-County Drug Task Force Investigator Morgan Carter reported that on Wednesday, deputies arrested Phillips and another person who was reportedly trespassing.

Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said Phillips initially gave a false name but investigators were able to identify him.

Kizer said Phillips pleaded guilty to drug charges and a six-year prison sentence was suspended.

He was told to come back to court Nov. 22.
