$100,000 bond set for Little Rock man and woman involved in drug buy; endangering child

$100,000 cash-only bond set for Little Rock man arrested after a drug buy was completed and officers found drugs in the suspects’ vehicle.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgeforth set the bond ruling prosecutors to have probable cause to charge Alex Sims 36, with the delivery of a controlled substance, fleeing, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from Detective Lee Freeman, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson read that on October 27th agents from the tri-county drug tasks force and the DEA utilized a confidential informant to complete a drug buy involving Sims.

After officers placed Sims under arrest they conducted a search of the vehicle, and Carson explained what they found.

Sims is currently out on bond for a first-degree murder charge in Little Rock and has several prior felony charges throughout several counties in the state.

Sims said he would hire his own attorney and he was told to come back to court on December 9th.

The passenger in the car, Lamonyca Williams 26, also of Little Rock, was arrested and charged with Possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and endangering the welfare of a minor in the 3rd.

Carson also read the probable cause affidavit by Detective Freeman and stated this.

A $100,000 secured bond was set for Williams who stated that she would let the court know if she would hire her own attorney or not. She was told to return to court December 9th.
