#1 Seeded Zebras Cruise in 5A State Tournament Opening Round

Despite limited action from their leading scorer, Pine Bluff cruised to a first round win over Greene County Tech Tuesday night 69-42 at Sheridan High School.

Zebras leading scorer Courtney Crutchfield saw limited action as he is nursing an injured hip, but his teammates picked up the slack. Pine Bluff dominated from the opening tip, taking a 20 point lead into halftime and forcing 11 turnovers defensively.

Sophomore guard Troyreon Ramos continued to play well leading the Z’s in scoring with 18 points. Austin Dendy contributed valuable minutes, scoring 17 points of the bench. Cedric Adams got in on the action with 9 points, while Crutchfield chipped in 8.

Pine Bluff will return to action Friday, when they will face the winner of Vilonia and Maumelle at Sheridan High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
