White Hall School District held its first official meeting with all board members present including the new superintendent Gary Williams. The board approved several items on their agenda in preparation for the upcoming school year, one of which was the superintendent’s mentoring program.
Deltaplex radio was present at the meeting and Williams further elaborated on that program to the board.
The other items on the agenda were quickly approved including two contractual agreements, policy updates, and approved bids for copy paper in the district. During the administrative reports, the construction project fund was mentioned as being on target with the finances of the district.
Before the board adjourned to the executive session, Williams presented his report which included announcements on safety training that the district is providing for its bus drivers. He also announced that the football stadium parking lot is anticipated to be complete by the first home football game of the season. On the topic of enrollment, the district has a total enrollment of 2,928 and Williams stated that they do expect that number to increase once the year begins.
He also announced a leadership retreat with the board and explained more.
In the executive session, the board approved the hiring of several staff members and resignations.
