URA highlights developments and blight demolitions underway

The Pine Bluff Urban Renewal Agency met for its monthly meeting at the Donald W. Reynolds Center Tuesday to address a few topics featured on their agenda. All of the agency commissioners were present including Jimmy Dill, Travis Martin, Lloyd Franklyn Sr, Kirby Mouser, Lynn Guynn, and the executive director of URA, Chandra Griffin. Franklyn Sr. presented the financial statements for April 2022, stating, “we are well within our financial projections” before the commissioners approved.

Next on the agenda was housing and Griffin updated the commissioners on their developments downtown.

Griffin also mentioned updates on their partnership with the Go Forward Pine Bluff’s ALICE program and their development plans.

On another subject, An RFQ was requested for an architect company for the downtown housing project and the commissioners voted unanimously to move forward with AMR Architect out of Little Rock. 

During Griffin’s executive report, she highlighted updates on their demolition projects mentioning that they have completed 24 and will complete 6 for a total of 30 by June 30th.  She added that construction designs are being developed by Level 5 Architecture for the Go-kart Track project underway.

In closing, Griffin explained with excitement that the first phase of the URA Green Sweep initiative was completed with the second phase scheduled to begin Wednesday, June 22nd.
