An unidentified man was killed and two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident in Chicot County in the early morning hours of Jan 2nd.
According to a preliminary report from the State Police, Eliceo Luna Perez was traveling west in a 2011 Dodge Caravan with John Doe as a passenger on Highway 82 when the vehicle crossed the center line turn lane and struck a 2014 Chevy Silverado driven by Eduardo Artega-Garci head on.
The passenger in the Dodge was pronounced deceased at the scene and the other two injured were taken to Delta Regional/Chicot Memorial Medical Center for their injuries.
The accident was reported at 2:30 a.m. and according to the report, it was clear and the roadway was wet
The death was the first of 2023 on the state’s highways.
