Pine Bluff, AR — The Fourth Annual Sustainable Forestry and Land Retention Joint Regional Conference will be held Aug. 29-30 at the Prairie View A&M University main campus. The event will begin at 9 a.m. each day at the MSC Opal Johnson Auditorium, 155 L.W. Minor Street in Prairie View, Texas. The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) Small Farm Program and the Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) Cooperative Extension Program co-sponsor the event.
“We are excited about this – our fourth – annual joint conference,” Kandi Williams, outreach coordinator for UAPB’s Keeping it in the Family Program, said. “The event will inform forestry landowners and stakeholders about the Sustainable Forestry and African American Land Retention (SFLR) Program. It is SFLR’s mission to help promote healthy forests, provide educational resources and services to resolve heirs’ property issues and to build generational wealth through forestland management.”
Attendees will learn about timely forestry and land management issues and hear from notable speakers. This conference is free and open to the public. To register, visit the following website: https://www.pvamu.edu/cafnr/homepage/research/small-farm-institute/program/sflr/program/.
