The UAPB Golden Lions football program will serve a postseason ban after failing to reach the minimum Academic Progress Rate (APR) threshold of 930. The Golden Lions football APR is at a 914, leading to the ban.
Deltaplex News spoke with UAPB Athletic Director Chris Robinson about the issue at hand. Robinson cited student athletes entering the transfer portal without enrolling at other institutions as one of three situations that hurt the Golden Lions APR rating.
Not only did student athletes leaving without enrolling into another institution hurt the APR, so did student athletes who left for junior colleges and the NFL draft.
