Suzanne Peyton was chosen as the new executive director for the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport/Adams Field during a Thursday morning meeting of the airport commission.
Peyton is the Little Rock airport’s director of properties, planning and development. A licensed professional engineer and graduate of Louisiana Tech University, she joined the airport in 2021 from the engineering firm Garver.
She was chosen over one other finalist, Sheneice Hughes, who is the chief administrative officer and deputy director for airport finance, people and culture for Dallas Love Field.
Peyton will begin her new role on Jan. 1, replacing Steven C. Baker, who resigned in September, after over a year in the position. He was the first permanent executive director after Bryan Malinowski, the airport’s executive director from 2019 to 2024, died.
Details of Peyton’s contract have not been finalized, but the salary range during the 2024 search for Baker was $225,000 to $275,000. Baker was paid $275,000.
The Little Rock airport’s finance chief, David Tipton, has led the airport on an interim basis since September.
