El Dorado Native John Shepherd Nominated to the Federal Bench

El Dorado native John Shepherd received a nomination to the federal bench in the Western District of Arkansas by President Trump. Shepherd is currently a judge in the 13th State Judicial District and is a partner at Shepherd & Shepherd, P.A. He is the son of U.S. Circuit Judge Bobby Shepherd and the brother of State Representative Matthew Shepherd.

Shepherd was previously appointed Prosecuting Attorney by former Governor Asa Hutchinson. In this position, he prosecuted criminal cases in Calhoun, Cleveland, Columbia, Dallas, Ouachita, and Union Counties. As an attorney, he represented individuals, non-profits, small businesses, and large corporations in state and federal courts.

Judge Shepherd earned his law degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law. He is active in various civil and professional organizations, including the Boys and Girls Club of El Dorado.
