The Arkansas Division of Workforce Services is reporting the unemployment rate for June stayed at 3.7%. That is unchanged for the fourth straight month. The U.S. jobless rate fell one tenth to a percentage of 4.2% in the same period of time. In Arkansas, the civilian workforce increased by 540 to 1.423 million, which is still a record level.  The labor force participation rate in the state is still just over 58%.

The new report comes on the heels on Amazon announcing they have purchased a large parcel of land in Fort Smith to possibly build a fulfillment center in Western Arkansas. Most fulfillment centers employ around 1,500 fulltime workers.
