November was a huge month for the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery. Riding the headwinds of a Mega Millions jackpot that reached nearly $1 billion in mid-November and a Powerball jackpot that exceeded $700 million by the end of the month, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery raised $9.3 million in November for college scholarships — up from $8.9 million in the same month in 2024.
News was tempered a little by the fact that the revenue showed a slight year over year decline, from $46.8 million in 2024 to $45 million this year. The numbers were released by the lottery last night.
In November, the lottery’s scratch-off ticket revenue dipped year over year from $37.6 million in 2024 to $35.3 million this year, while the lottery’s draw-game revenue increased year over year from $9.1 million in 2024 to $9.6 million, the lottery reported.
The lottery’s draw-game ticket sales, such as Powerball and Mega Millions, are more profitable to the lottery than scratch-off ticket sales.
The Powerball jackpot reached $719 million at the end of November this year, compared to $212 million at the end of November 2024, said Mike Smith, the lottery’s gaming director.
