UAPB Softball: Jackson Named SWAC Hitter of the Week
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball student-athlete Samaria Jackson has been named Southwestern Athletic Conference Hitter of the week, announced by the conference office.
Jackson tallied a total of four hits, five runs, six RBIs, and three home runs this past weekend during UAPB’s three-game series versus Prairie View A&M. She contributed a home run in all three games against the Lady Panthers. The junior currently ranks second in the conference in home runs with eight, 4th in the conference in on-base slugging percentage (1.123), 9th in the conference with 34 hits, and 10th in the conference in batting average (.370).
Jackson and the Lady Lions will host Texas Southern in a SWAC series starting Friday at 3 p.m. at the Torii Hunter Softball Complex during UAPB’s Founders Week.
