Rison’s Noah Matheson Continues to Impress Heading Into Upcoming Season

Pine Bluff, AR– Rising junior baseball standout Noah Matheson has been recognized as one of the premier young baseball talents in Arkansas, earning a spot among Perfect Game’s top-ranked players for the Class of 2027.
Perfect Game lists Matheson as the No. 34 overall player in the state and the No. 10 shortstop in Arkansas, placing him firmly among the most promising underclassmen in the region. The national scouting service also named him to multiple Perfect Game All-Tournament Teams this summer while competing with the Baseball Portal 17U National Team, further validating his rising stock on the national stage.

Matheson’s ranking comes on the heels of an impressive high school campaign in which he earned All-Conference, All-State, and All Arkansas Preps Underclassmen Team honors by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, after helping lead the Wildcats to the 8-3A Conference Championship last spring.

Prep Baseball Report highlighted Matheson’s athleticism and two-way potential, noting his slender build and quick-twitch actions, with room for added strength and development. On the mound, the report cited his explosive mechanics and efficient velocity, projecting additional growth as he continues to mature physically. At the plate, Matheson was praised for his bat speed and uphill swing, giving him the ability to drive the ball to all fields. Overall, the outlet described him as a high-upside two-way athlete with strong physical projection.

Matheson has committed to play college baseball at Texas A&M University–Texarkana.
