Rison Wildcat Standout Noah Matheson Shines During Summer Competition

TOMBALL, Texas – Rising junior Noah Matheson, a standout right-handed pitcher and shortstop for the Rison Wildcats, has been recognized as a Top Performer by Perfect Game following an impressive showing at a five-day tournament in Tomball, Texas.
Competing with the Baseball Portal 16u National Team, Matheson made a significant impact at the plate, earning recognition from Perfect Game, which ranked him #8 out of 100 players for runs batted in (RBIs). He finished the tournament with four RBIs, a .500 batting average, and a .667 on-base percentage (OBP)—placing him among the top 30 players in OBP.
Matheson also racked up three doubles, ranking third overall, and finished 11th in slugging percentage with an impressive 1.000 SLG. His overall offensive production placed him 28th in OPS (1.700) and 34th overall in combined hitting stats for the event.
The tournament performance builds on what has already been a breakout year for Matheson. This past high school season, he played a key role in leading Rison High School to its first conference championship in 21 years. His achievements earned him All-Conference, All-State, and All-Arkansas Preps Underclassmen Team honors.
