The 2025 MLB Draft saw a record number of Razorbacks selected to continue their careers on the next level. For the first time in program history, four Razorbacks were drafted in the first round, then another seven over the final day, tying Arkansas’s best-ever total of 11 picks.

Gage Wood was the first Hog selected with the 26th overall pick by the Philadelphia Phillies. The powerhouse right-hander from Batesville, AR, etched his name into history with a jaw-dropping 19-strikeout no‑hitter in the College World Series, the first such feat in 65 years.

Wehiwa Aloy landed as the 31st pick, by the Baltimore Orioles. Aloy was this year’s Golden Spikes Award winner and SEC Player of the Year, after slashing .350/.434/.673 with a team-high 21 homers and 68 RBI in 65 games during the 2025 season.

Zach Rootthe lefty with electric stuff and SEC First Team selection, was picked at 40th overall by the Los Angles Dodgers.

Charles Davalanthe dynamic leadoff outfielder, followed immediately as the 41st pick to also join the Dodgers and setting a record for consecutive Razorbacks picked. 

This unprecedented first-round haul marked only the second time ever a college produced four back-to-back first-round selections. Arkansas joined Tennessee in this elite, record-setting company.

On Day 2, Arkansas had seven more players selected across Rounds 4–20.

This matched Arkansas’s all-time record of 11 draft picks in a single year — a feat previously achieved in 2013 and 2018.
