Local young athletes will have the chance to showcase their baseball and softball skills during the 2025 Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run competition, scheduled for Thursday, June 26, at Historic Taylor Field in Pine Bluff.

The event, hosted by PRO-DAY Baseball founder Jeff Gross, is open to boys and girls ages 7-14 and is completely free to enter. Pitch, Hit & Run (PHR) is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. The event allows youth to test their abilities in three core areas of the game: pitching, hitting, and running. Participants will be grouped into four age divisions: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14, with age determined by the cutoff date of November 15, 2025.

Competitors will earn points based on performance metrics recorded during the event. High scorers may advance from the Local Competition to a Team Championship, and potentially earn a spot in the National Finals held during the 2025 MLB World Series. Gross spoke about that as well.
