Lady Lions Fall to #9 TCU; Final 2025 Home Game Cancelled

Fort Worth, Texas — The Arkansas-Pine Bluff Lady Lions battled hard on the road Tuesday night but ultimately fell to the No. 9-ranked TCU Horned Frogs, 109-54, in nonconference women’s basketball action at Schollmaier Arena. The loss drops UAPB to 3-6 on the season, while TCU improved to an unblemished 12-0 mark.
From the opening tip, the Horned Frogs set the tone with suffocating defense and efficient offense. TCU raced out to a 27-5 first-quarter lead and never looked back, extending its impressive home win streak in the process.
TCU’s balanced attack featured eye-catching performances across the board. Olivia Miles continued her stellar season, posting another triple-double with 25 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists, her third straight such performance. Marta Suarez also recorded a triple-double, finishing with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, marking a career milestone. Donovyn Hunter added 18 points, while Clara Silva contributed 14 and Taylor Bigby chipped in 10.
Despite the deficit, the Lady Lions showed resilience and individual spark. Indiya Bowen led UAPB with 18 points, going 7-for-19 from the field, and Jailah Pelly was close behind with 17 points. Jayla Cornelius added 13.

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women’s basketball team’s non-conference game scheduled for Sunday, December 21, against the University of the Virgin Islands has been canceled due to travel issues with the opponent. The game will not be rescheduled.
The Golden Lions will now shift their focus to SWAC conference play, opening league action at home against Alabama State on Thursday, January 1, 2026, inside the H.O. Clemmons Arena. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. (CT).
