Head Coach Alonzo Hampton shared his thoughts against Bethune- Cookman:

UAPB’s offense showed promise early behind quarterback Christian Peters, who finished the game 20-41 passing for 185 yards and a touchdown, also rushing for 55 yards on 9 carries. Running back Jalen Jennings finished with 42 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Ellis Stewart led in receiving yards with 56yds, while D’Avery Robinson finished with five catches for 44yds and a score.

On defense, Danarius Hilliard led the charge with ten total tackles and one and half sacks. Tylan Cole and Derron Moore posted eight tackles each.

The loss drops UAPB’s conference record to 1-3 in the SWAC West race, but head coach Alonzo Hampton remains optimistic heading into this week’s showdown against Southern University, and he talked about what the Golden Lions need to improve on to be successful:

The Golden Lions will return home to Simmons Bank Field this Saturday to host the Southern Jaguars in what’s expected to be a physical rivalry clash.  A win would be a major momentum boost as UAPB looks to rebound and stay competitive in the SWAC standings.
