The Golden Lions (3-10) poured it on from the outset, turning sharply with their most complete team effort of the season. UAPB boasted three players in double figures and seven scorers overall, while stifling the visiting Tigers on both ends of the floor. Coach Solomon Bozeman shared his thoughts on the win:

Senior guard Quion Williams delivered a historic performance, finishing with a triple-double for the ages — **29 points, 14 rebounds, and a school-record 18 assists — marking the first triple-double of his career. Williams was efficient from the field (13-of-18) and contributed across the board, orchestrating the Golden Lions’ high-octane offense. Coach Bozeman talked about Williams:

Jaquan Scott led all scorers with 33 points and added 13 rebounds, anchoring UAPB’s dominance in the paint. Forward Trevon Payton also registered a double-double, chipping in 18 points and 11 boards, just one assist shy of a triple-double himself. Alex Mirhosseini scored 20 to round out UAPB’s big contributors.

Champion Christian struggled to keep pace, with Cade Wilson leading the Tigers with 17 points. Other contributors included Cam Parker with 12, and Fred’travious Benjamin and Trevor Vertiz adding 11 each, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Golden Lions’ scoring surge.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s balanced attack and energetic defense helped create a comfortable margin early and never allowed the Tigers to threaten. The Golden Lions now look ahead to their next outing, with their next scheduled contest slated for early January when they will begin SWAC play.
