On August 28, 2023, just after 1:00 AM Officers of the Pine Bluff Police Department responded to the area 2601 N. Hutchinson for a report of gunshots in the area. While en route to the area, another call came in from a person stating that they had been shot. This victim was located in front of a residence in the 2500 block of N. Hutchinson. The victim was a 21-year-old male who had apparent gunshot wounds. He was responsive and talking to officers at the scene. He was transported from the scene by EASi Ambulance Service to Jefferson Regional Medical. His condition is unknown at the time of this release.
Other officers located the crime scene and a second victim in the parking lot of an apartment building at 2601 N. Hutchinson. The second victim was a female. She was unresponsive when located and pronounced dead at the scene by the Jefferson County Coroner’s office. The female homicide victim has not been identified as of the time of this release.
The motive for this shooting is unknown. There is no suspect information to release at this time.
