Sheridan School Superintendent Jerrod Williams, who has been in the position since 2014 is a finalist for the superintendent’s position in the Searcy School District.
According to the Sheridan Headlight newspaper, Williams was one of four people recommended for the position by McPherson and Jacobson, a Nebraska firm that specializes in recruiting executives for firms and school boards.
The newspaper reported that the Sheridan School District used the same firm to hire Williams when the former superintendent, Dr. Brenda Hayes, retired in June 2014.
The Searcy School Board voted to interview each of the four candidates for the position individually with those interviews taking place this week.
The newspaper reported that the Searcy and Sheridan School Districts are of similar size and enrollment and according to public documents, the annual salary for Superintendent is $170,000. Williams earns just over that amount for the 2020-2021 school year at Sheridan.
The Sheridan School Board recently voted to extend Williams’ contract after a lengthy closed door meeting.
