Sheridan will be well represented in State Tournaments for spring sports, as they get underway this week.
Scott Hoffman’s softball team, who captured the 5A South and carry a 25-2 record into the tournament in Harrison, will open play on Thursday at 10 a.m. against Van Buren. Last season, the Lady Jackets made it to the semi-finals after battling through injuries with a young squad, losing to Greene County Tech.
The baseball team, coached by the legendary Mike Moore, finished 4th in their conference and will take on Russellville at 12:30 in Harrison on Thursday. They had a 20 win season last year, losing in the first round to Maumelle.
The Lady Jacket soccer team of coach Carson Ayers won critical games down the stretch to punch their ticket into a loaded 5A tournament at Hot Springs Lakeside. The 7-6-2 Lady Jackets will play a hot Siloam Springs at 10 a.m. on Thursday. The Lady Panthers are hot, having won their last 11 in a row and finished as the runner up in the 5A West.
