A settlement involving the Sheridan School District and the former superintendent has been reached, according to the Sheridan Headlight newspaper.
The agreement provides that former Superintendent Jerrod Williams, whose contract was terminated in February, will remain on the payroll until June and will be given a lump sum payment of $177,000, the equivalent of one year’s salary.
Williams’ contract had been scheduled to expire in June 2024 so he will be paid for just one of those two years.
The newspaper also reported that the agreement also said, “certain differences have arisen between the employees of the district regarding the administration and operation of the district.”
After Williams was fired, the board hired Dr. Karla Neathery as the new superintendent. She will begin work in June and until then, former Watson Chapel School Superintendent Dr. Jerry Guess will oversee the district’s operations.
