Governor-elect Sarah Huckaby Sanders has announced her choices for the state Department of Human Services.

Sanders will be sworn in Jan. 10 as the state’s 47th Governor.

Topping the list is her choice for Human Service Secretary, Kristi Putnam.

According to a news release, Putnam has more than 20 years of experience in “human services, early childhood services, education, workforce development, and health policy including the implementation of Kentucky’s Medicaid transformation.”

She is coming to Arkansas from Kentucky.

Sanders also announced Mischa Martin who will serve as deputy director of Youth and Families, Janet Mann as deputy director of Health and State Medicaid Director, and Mark White as Chief of Staff.

Other appointments announced by Sanders include former Entergy Arkansas CEO Hugh T. McDonald as Secretary of the Department of Commerce, State Police Capt. Mike Hagar as Secretary of Public Safety, Mike Mills as Secretary of the Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism and said Director A.J. Gary in the State Division of Emergency Services.

Sanders also announced she would reappoint Secretary Wes Ward to the state Department of Agriculture.
