Richard “Rick” Victorino has been a member of the Jefferson County Quorum Court since he was appointed by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders in January following the resignation of former Justice Danny Holcomb. He has started getting involved with legislation after taking time to study past meetings to see how business was conducted.

He spoke with Deltaplex News on Monday to discuss what his goals are for his time on the quorum court, saying he wants to make sure things are done as they are supposed to be done.

Victorino said that he feels County Judge Gerald Robinson should appoint new committees and the procedural ordinance that was recently passed should be followed.

A budget for 2025 was passed at a special called meeting on Friday night. Victorino says that while County Judge Gerald Robinson has the right to veto the budget he has hopes that he will not do so.

One big subject that citizens across the county have been complaining about is the condition of county roads. Several justices, to include Victorino, voted against an allocation of funds for county road repairs at Monday night’s meeting. However, he said that he is also receiving phone calls about road conditions and hopes to see repairs come soon.
