A new member was added to the Poyen City Council during its most recent meeting.
According to the Sheridan Headlight newspaper, Sherri Tittle was appointed to fill the vacant Position 2 on the council.
Beginning this month, residents will see an increase on trash pickup fees. The monthly fee, which appears on water bills will increase to $25.
Also Riggan announced that the next meeting of the council will take place May 19 at 7 p.m. at the Poyen City Hall. That meeting will be one week earlier than usual because of the Memorial Day holiday.
