A Pine Bluff man was killed in the early morning hours Tuesday when he was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle.
According to a preliminary report, the driver of a 2022 Toyota 4Runner was northbound on U.S. 79 Camden Road in the left hand lane approaching the northbound traffic light of I530 when Zachary Simpson, 30, came from the west on a bicycle and into the path of the Toyota whose driver was unable to stop and hit Simpson.
The accident was reported at 5:54 a.m. and the death was the 373rd so far this year on the state’s highways.
