A Pine Bluff man previously convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery is facing a felony allegation after being arrested on New Year’s Day.
During a court hearing Wednesday, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said Bennie Washington, 33, had been convicted of the misdemeanor offense within the [past five years.
He went on to explain what Washington did to get arrested.
West said Washington is currently on parole.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $20,000 bond for Washington after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with a second offense of third-degree domestic battery. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled.
