A one-vehicle accident in Dallas County Saturday resulted in the death of a Leola man.
According to a preliminary report, Lacedric Ruth, 24, was westbound on State Highway 48 and as he exited a left hand curve, the 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 he was driving left the roadway on the left side and collided with a group of trees. The vehicle then overturned at least twice before coming to final rest on the drivers side facing north along the eastbound roadside ditch of the highway.
Ruth was taken to a hospital at Malvern where he died.
The accident was reported at 6:30 p.m. and the death was the 269th so far this year on the state’s highways.
