Ronald E. Oliver, 70
1954-2024

Ronald E. Oliver, age 70 of Jonesboro, Arkansas formerly of Fordyce passed away from this life on November 6, 2024 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock surrounded by his loving family. Ronnie, as most family and friends called him, was born in Millington, Tennessee on August 8, 1954 to the late Millard E. Oliver Sr. and Mary V. O’Banion Oliver. Ronnie is and forever will be the most kind and loving brother, uncle, friend, and cousin anyone could ask for.

Ronnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing, and listening to music with Gospel being his favorite. He also enjoyed going to Wal-Mart just to look around or to buy Hot Wheels cars, baseball cards, clothes, and tennis shoes (which if anyone who really knew him knows, he had more than enough clothes and shoes to open his own clothing store).

Preceding him in death are his parents, maternal grandparents Jack and Dora G. O’Banion, paternal grandparents Edgar L. Oliver, Robert Carroll and Ida Oliver Carroll, brothers Jeffrey Wayne, Michael Keith, and Dennis Ray, along with numerous aunts and uncles.

Ronnie is survived by one brother Millard E. Oliver Jr., sisters Mary Diane Oliver, Lisa Pryor (James) and Deborah K. Martin (John Patrick) all of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and a very special sister-in-law Brenda May Oliver of Benton, Arkansas.

Also those left to cherish his memory are his nieces and nephews whom he loved with all his heart: Aime Griffin (Clint), Susan Haug (Stewart), Elizabeth Cornish (Justin), Tiffany Bishop (BJ), Ginny Higerd (Adam), Katie Barnes (Justin), and Terry Martin, 13 great nephews, 11 great nieces, one great-great nephew, and many other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Monday from 2PM until 3PM at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will follow at 3PM at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rusty Blann officiating. Pallbearers are Millard E. Oliver Jr., Terry Martin, Hunter Bishop, BJ Bishop, Clint Griffin, and Stewart Haug. Honorary pallbearers are James Pryor, John Patrick Long, Justin Cornish, Adam Higerd, and Justin Barnes. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
