Robert Kenneth “Pete” Bogy, age 83, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
Born at Wabbaseka on March 5, 1943, he was a son of the late Lonnie Beauregard Bogy and Velma Bertha McArthur Bogy. He was a graduate of Willie K. Hocker High School.
Mr. Bogy retired from International Paper Company after 35 years of service. He was also a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church.
Pete loved being with his family and always stayed busy. He spent his time fishing, hunting, working in his garden, building things, and enjoyed helping friends and neighbors in need of assistance.
He married his wife and best friend, Joyce Kay Palmer Bogy on December 18, 1961 at Muldrow, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on September 28, 2022 after 60 years of marriage. He was also predeceased by his son, Keith Bogy; and his siblings, Janette Pruitt, Linda Stevens, and Lonnie Bogy.
Survivors include his daughter, Donna Steck (Brad); a granddaughter, Brandy Granderson (Bradley); a grandson, Trent Bogy (Bailee Bibb); a great-grandson, Caleb Hankins; along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Robinson & Fuller White Hall Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in Flat Bayou Cemetery at Altheimer.
